![]() Hi This is my 2nd day of using LimeWire 4.8.1 my System. Win XP PRO Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600 Processor x86 Family 6 Model 6 Stepping 2 AuthenticAMD ~1536 Mhz Total Physical Memory 256.00 MB Available Physical Memory 95.85 MB Available Virtual Memory 1.96 GB Internet connection DSL No error message Q: Can I shut down LimeWire--but not interrupt—uploads that are in progress? A: If you put LimeWire in your system tray it will continue your active uploads, even after LimeWire has been shut down. LimeWire does this automatically. I like this but: I put LimeWire in system tray and have it set to shut down after active uploads are done the connection quality goes from TurboCharged to Poor. 8 hr later downloads and uploads still have not finnished. I then restore LimeWire with in a few min. Connection quality goes back up to TurboCharged. The the downloads and uploads speeds are good again every thing is completed quickly. I just tried it again with no downloads in progress. In the time it took me to wright this 10 min. Connection quality went from TurboCharged to Poor I had 3 uploading and 3 Queued wating to up load. 30 seconds after restorting LimeWire Connection quality back up to TurboCharged. In the ten min. of having it set to shut down I now have 10 Queued standing in line to down load files and some saying upload limit has been reached. 3 people (my limit of uploads at one time) have been trying to download all day poking along at 1 KB/s to 4 KB/s. I have left LimeWire running at TurboCharged all day so they could get the files. These people with slow connection should not be trying to download file that are over 50 MB let a lone files that are over 500 MB It looks like I am the only one that has them. (xandros-301-ocd-installation.zip 540MB) and (KNOPPIX_V3.8.1-2005-04-08-EN.iso 686 MB). I have made a file called (This BitTornado Will Download xandros-301-ocd Fast.ZIP) This 3,256KB size file will give you a much better way to down load the 540MB xandros-301-ocd-installation.zip. It took me just about 1 hr to down load it using BitTornado. Thanks Ray Hogaboom |
