Default LimeWire Crash For Xp

I have windows xp and lw keeps crashing my computer. All those other discussions ended up taking me to that visual networks upgrade site. But i have an AMD ATHLON processor (THE BEST) would i still be able to use it and why can't lw fix this problem?
By the way everytime before it freezes my mouse won't move then it goes black then opens up a blue screen with white writing on it. I don't know what it means!!!
PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!!!!!!!!
