I get the same problem. I've tried reducing connections and various options in hopes that it is just getting overloaded.

I have a dual 1+ Ghz system with 2G of RAM. Should be plenty to handle it.

Windows XP with latest updates, patches, etc.

Default Overheat

Shutdown computer

Open case

Stick desk fan next to case

Wait 45 minutes

Start computer

Start Limewire (LW ROCKS)

Do what you do to make it crash

Does it still crash? No? Your computer is getting overheated and you need better/more cooling devices. Yes? Post back please.

Default I don't need that

I am NOT a moron ok...I am a very educated windows user that is just trying to help...if my advice doesn't work its no need to call names.

I have had my computer crash while downloading stuff in limewire, I reach over to the front of my case and it will be radiating hot...so it isn't impossible for it to be an overheating thing. I work my computer to death so I don't complain...but if it happens constanly right after you do something in particuler please post back what you did.

I also have the shutdown problem, and I do not think it is because of overheating, because my computer shuts only when limewire is working. And when I go in "shared" it also shutsdown. And visual networks did not help me...

any help please?

Tried using the latest Java virtual machine?
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

(I recommend the offline installation for Windows, so you could save the installation file and save anytime you choose.)

Also, the crashed could be caused by other stuff like spyware, virus, windows registry needing cleaning, etc. Post back here if you have tried installing the latest Java VM and if you still have problems.

Default hello noob

If you have any trouble. Uninstall Limewire and re-install after a reboot. This should fix most problems!

Leave your computer on as often as you can to share files with others. Go to TOOLS, then OPTIONS and select full speeds on uploads and downloads. Add more slots and change where your shred files are.

All that you see on Limewire is there becasue people like us share our files. Please remeber to share!
