Okay, someone has GOT to help me again. 'Limewire' is making me SICK!!! Why the frickin hell can't it just work properly!?!?!?!? WHY!??!!??!! I have yet another problem that makes me feel like vomiting and screaming! Well, after I had that SICK problem in which 'Limewire' keeps opening up by itself every couple of seconds, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it again but nothing worked. I read the solutions in the 'Limewire acting wierd' thread but I really don't want to take the chance of deleting all restore points. What if it doesn't work?!?!?! Then I'm stuck with the problem and no hope of restoring my system again. System Restore is my only safety blanket. Is there any other way of excorsizing this Satan reincarnated disguising itself as a Limewire problem?

Man im telling you go back to your other forum you started and do what the guy says!! it does work because I DIT IT AND AM FINE I am the one who posted to delete your restore points that is OPTIONAL but a GOOD IDEA. If you want. create a restore point before you follow the removal instructions and IF you get screwed then restore back. If your pc is fine then create another one after the fix of the virus and delete the rest which will actually contain the virus and could re-infect your system. Its not that hard do do this really. If you dont want to delete your restore points then dont. After a couple of months though with about one restore point a day created automatically they begin to build up and should be deleted anyway. again YOU DONT HAVE TO DELETE THEM also the guy said to disable system restore while your removing the virus but i didnt and mine is working perfectly. i also couldnt do the ms-dos thing he said but i cant see the difference. Im telling you it works and if it doesnt i will copy you my Windows XP CD and mail it toy ou. It is legal to copy but you have to use the key that came with your computer and of course re-install everything. So you have TWO safetys one of course being the better option but just do what the guy said man it will work. I PROMISE

and p.s. It dosent delete ALL restore points just all BUT the latest i.e. If you had a point on JAN 1, JAN 2, & JAN 3 It would delete JAN 1, and JAN 2. JAN 3 would be left there. I would have edited my last post but my browser wont let me for some reason

kc0rkx_finch is absolutely right. Try the steps that I've outlined. They are perfectly safe! I assure you of that.

Disabling the System Restore feature is important when you are cleaning out viruses, adware, trojans, etc. from your computer. When restore points are created they are stored in a directory that is accessible only to the System account and not to a user. This keeps the restore points safe from misuse and tampering. Unfortunately this also means that any virus scan software you may have installed can not scan the files located there as well. This causes a problem if a file that is infected with a virus gets backed up into a restore point because now the anti-virus software can not clean it. Now if you ever restore from a restore point, that file that is infected will be introduced back into your system. Turning off the System Restore until you have cleared the computer of the virus ensures that the next System Restore point is clean (ie. free of the traces of the virus) so that it cannot be re-introduced on your computer.

You will be soooooooo happy once you try the steps! It will remove the annoying virus. Believe me!
