Default No Error Messages. Please Help.

I previously used LIMEWIRE on a daily basis, on some occasions limewire is more useful than google, or any other internet search bar.
I recently obtained a virus through LIMEWIRE downloading an exe file not realizing it. ( oops )
This virus removed all important programs like MSN, AOL, Mozilla Firefox, Adobe Photoshop, and many other programs that I cared much about, including limewire, and mcafee virus stuff.

Now that my computer is fine, i would like to use limewire again, but the problem is, no matter what i do, limewire will NOT run.
I've tried disabling all firewalls, including mcafee and windows, and i've also disabled virus scans.

Installation goes fine, but loading limewire is my problem, the little time capsule shows to about half a second, then my screen sorta blinks, and nothing happens.

I've checked Ctrl+alt+del for processes and applications running limewire but i dont see anything.

Any help on getting limewire to ever work again would be great!

See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=39612 & see if it applies to you. Also try changing your LW's compatibility to win 2k; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire
You could also try deleting the LW preferences folder whilst LW is closed (instructions in link above.)

If this doesn't fix it, then I'd recommend uninstallling it from the Start menu >Programs>LW>Uninstaller, then re-installing it from here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml
