![]() Whenever I connect to limewire over my wireless ethernet connection my pc crashes with a blue screen and has to be rebooted. When I connect to the router using a network cable it works fine. It is a new 3Com Officeconnect 11g router. I am using XP Pro SP2 with all latest updates. The message i get on the blue screen is: Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal w22n51.sys address F828B988 base at F8217000, datestamp 404c5c4c When the PC rebooted i sent the problem to microsoft and the directed me to Intel for an updated driver(wireless 9.0.1.0 - generic TIC 90281). I installed this and restarted but it has not fixed the problem. I have enabled the gnutella network in the windows firewall connection properties as suggested in the limewire support page. The wireless network is encrypted using WPA but I have had no problems with any other program when connecting wirelessly. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance |

![]() That was quick! OK here are some more details: 1. XP Pro SP2 with automatic updates enabled 2. Windows XP firewall. Firewall that comes with router -see below. 3. 512MB RAM 4. Over 15GB Hard Disk available 5. ADSL connection, 1MBps 6. Router: 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless 11g Firewall Router, 3CRWDR-100Y-72. Software v1.06Y (it's brand new). Wireless networking enabled. Wireless encryption WPA-PSK (no server). channel 11. 7. Connecting from home 8. LW 4.8.1 , Java 1.5.0_02 9. Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 64MB (it is a 6 month old laptop) 10.Acer Travelmate 4500 Centrino 1.5Ghz I've got Norton Antivirus installed and updated and have done system scan. Thanks a lot for your help guys! Can you give us a total desciption of your set up: 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) 2. What firewalls you have? 3. How much ram? 4. Hard Disk space available? 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? 7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? 8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 9. Graphics card brand & version & driver version. 10. ![]() I could make some simple LW related solutions. But the issue is most likely a compatibility issue with your hardware or hardware drivers. We can try anyway. 1. Change the compatibility mode of LW to Win 2k; instructions: Fixes for Limewire I'd suggest you search for any issues that have cropped up with your model & configuration.
