I know I'm not the first and definatley won't be the last , I presume there is nothing we can do about these scammers but to educate as many users as possible and above all not to be so naieve. Anyway, cancelled credit card and posted link below of site ( possible has already been done).

Another scam site

Hi, my name is erin and I was scammed.

It's been, oh, 24 hours now and according to my credit card company I can report it as fraud in three business days. Meanwhile I was able to get back to the scammer web page and demand a refund. Had to pay some international phone charges, but hey, I want my money back. They'll refund all but nine dollars. So I suppose I need to call the credit card company again in a few days and figure all of the rest out. But if it means I only lost $9, it's not so bad.

But for all of you out there

http://www.tvshowshome.com/

is another scam site. Of course, now that I look carefully, I was paying not for the Limewire, but for the support service that was provided. Exactly how they provide support for a program they don't own, didn't design, and as far as I can tell, had nothing to do with, is beyond me. And when I called up to cancel the "service" the guy on the other end wanted (demanded) to know if I had broken any copyright laws by downloading music or media files.

I'll report back as the story unfolds.

They got me too!

TVshowsHome.com got me too. The above advice of not registering for a site unless they offer a free trial is not bad. Also, watch out for tv.org. As for any of you asking your credit card companys to cancel the subscription as fraud, did it work, curious to know. I can't believe that in the more than twelve years I've been online, that I'd still fall for a scam like this.

oh... and

When i called them to complain. I was told that they give you access to servers that do not come on the LimeWire client by default. So far, searching their site, I've got nothing.

Update

Well, I although I asked TVhome to return my money, they did not, the *******s. So I called the credit company and challenged the payment. I then had to prove I had gotten scammed, so I basically printed out all the web-page, highlighting the part where they promised free tv and then mentioned that the copyright infringment information that points out that you cannot download tv for free is not accessable until after you pay. So it was a bit of work, but the credit card company accepted my tale of woe (and rampant stupidity) and gave me back my money. They said that if possible (like if the company broke any laws) they would pass on the information to the fed. watchdog that goes after sites like this.

The moral of the story is, if you get scammed, COMPLAIN! :D
