fatal error
 

went to load up limewire and get the following error

fatal error

limewire has encountered a fatal internal error and will now exit.this is generally caused by a corrupted installation.please try downloading and installing limewire again.


i downloaded and tried re-installing several times and still get the same error

any help ?

Uninstall LW. Then get this version: See Here about other version. And get it from here http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml All you need to do is unzip it & use it. Make sure you have Java installed! Downld Java to your computer (don't install it over the net!) & then install it; Java 1.5 (take the JRE)

got that installed and the version downloaded you linked and still no go

Try out some of these suggestions such as changing compatibility mode to win 2k, & if one version of java doesn't work, try another as listed here: Fixes for Limewire

Failing all of this, try the beta version 4.9.x http://www.limewire.com/english/content/beta.shtml

Here we go: Fix for opening Limewire "Fatal Error Message" Sorry I'm a bit slow & sore at moment. Strained my back couple hrs ago & I'm in agony. :rolleyes: :)
