Default Limewire installed but Will Not Run

Hey Geniuses out There,
I have a brand new computer I put together. Loaded Win XP Pro and have installed ZoneAlarm Security Suite. Have used Limewire for a long time and have never had a problem like this. I installed and uninstalled an reinstalled but nothing works. Have tried disabling ZoneAlarm but no change. What happens is you start Limewire, the initial 6"x6" window comes up stating that LimeWire is loading but then.... nothing. PC never runs it. What's going on here? Any ideas? Appreciate your help or any insight. Thanks!

I ain't no genius or expert just been using LW for a few yrs or more.

But I can make some suggestions:

1. Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link) To disable XP's firewall: go to the control panel, double click on Windoze Firewall, check the disable box.

2. Change the compatibility mode of LW to win 2k; instructions see Fixes for Limewire

Thanks for the quick response LOTR!
I did check the permitted apps function in Zone Alarm and it was included, but still did not allow access. I had already deactivated the Windows FW. I will try the other Win 2K option. What's the reasoning behind that action?
