limewire locks-up/freezes on install

when I install limewire installation locks-up at installing java. Have tried downloading java direct from Sun, however that does not help. Can anyone lend some assistance to get me over this hump? Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.

download the Windows (Offline Installer) from here: http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

run installation of java, and keep the install program you downloaded for safe keeping if something happens to go wrong.

after you do this, run the limewire installation again and it should skip the java installation because you already have it now.

Download and Install

1. Go to www.java.com
2. Click Manual Download under Get Java Software.
3. Click Download next to Windows (Offline Installation).
The File Download dialog box appears.
4. Choose the folder location.
5. (Save the file to a known location on your computer, for example, to your desktop). Click Save.
The Save As dialog box appears.
If you have previously downloaded this version of JRE, you may be prompted:
File jre-1_5_0_02-windows-i586-p.exe already exists. Do you want to replace it?
6. Click Yes to replace.
7. Verify that the:
* Name of the file is jre-1_5_0_02-windows-i586-p.exe
* Size is approximately 15.2 MB
8. Close all applications including the browser.
9. Double-click on the saved file icon to start the installation process.
