I have a some what similar problem. Limewire loads up fine, runs for a few minutes and then boom it freezes. I haven't changed anything except going from the 4.8 limewire or whatever to the new one.

Also since I'm posting, I have a newbie question whats the difference between limewire 4.9 and limewire 4.9 beta?

ok I am now posting in my original thread and Grandpa I tried the solution in the link you gave me......no luck.See I don't ever configure my computer for games anyways so that wasn't the problem. I have a Dell dimension 4700 and I use road runner as my ISP with of course a cable connection to help you out a little bit on what my computer consists of. Please more solutions people! Thanks!

You gave me one very good piece of information

Your Graphics are probably set to Application controlled. When you play games they will change your settings to the settings they use these setting do not get changed back and LimeWire has been known to have problems with this. Go back to the link and read the first post if the new beta dose not solve your problem I am pretty sure changing your settings will.

Did you check your setting again after it froze on you when you check them wright them down. Then change them try to start LimeWire again if it doesn't try a different setting until you find one that works. Write them down you might have another program changing your settings.
