It could be for a no. of reasons. See corrupted files (click on link) as it could be the source of your files or a firewall, AV, etc. causing problems.

yeah but they do download, its just that, 4 songs 4 example, they might play the 1st 10 seconds than repeat, and 4 videos, it might say "1 or more codec is wrong" or something. If limewire doesnt work 4 me, what other software do you reccommend? (I dont wanna switch from limewire sadly, i LOVED IT :-()

Please hit the Reply button not the new thread button when replying. Else your post will be deleted for subsequent replies.

This will happen for any software you're using. I think your mistake is you're previewing songs & videos right? Yes you can only preview as much as you've downlded. If you've only downlded 10% of a song then you're only going to be able to listen to 10% of it which might be 20 seconds for example. To listen to the whole song or video wait until it's 100% downlded. You'll find the completed downlds in your Saved files folder in the LW Library window. Select that folder & the file & press Launch button. Else move it out of the folder & open it with your normal player.

Also, if your files are showing corrupt you can go to LW's menu Tools>Options>View>Popups & press revert to default & press apply button.

No even in my saved folder, it will come up n it will just repeat. For example, I downloaded the song "Feel Good Inc" by the Gurrillas and it starts out with this laughing, and than a cool beat comes and singing. However my download has it, it starts laughing, than the beat comes 4 2 seconds, and it starts laughing again. It repeats itself over and over like that. Is it possible the music industry could have corrupted all of my downloading softwares?

I've a suspicion you didn't see the link I gave. There it points out that the most popular files on the network are often corrupt, particularly if they come from T3 sources. Yes it appears the RIAA is trying to kill people's enthusiasm for downlding music & sharing it.

Instead of downlding from T3 sources, see if you can get them from other sources such as T1 or cable or modem.

Also re: video, get VLC: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (choose nearest mirror site) & see if you can play them with that program. If you can, it means you dont have the appropriate codecs for some video types. Have you seen Movie download issues & also CODECs list and alternate players for Movies

Whats a Codec

Oh and by the way, Whats a Codec, Ive neva understood that. Ive gotten notices in Windows media player saying that "one or more codecs required to play this file could not be found."

Ok, I think I understand why I cant download music, yet i kno there is more to it than that, because even non mainstream music wont download. But even if your right about the music downloading, what about my video downloading? Im downloading skits from SNL which had already appeared on TV. That is legal. And yet they dont work. Yet Shouldn't they work?
