![]() hi, In the past, I've been able to prevent viewing the 'linked' files relating to specific mp3 files, e.g. Albumart, etc. Now I can't seem to not show them in my Library (other than by deleting the file altogether). Is this a new feature of 4.9.23? Thanks, Pete |

![]() AFAIK there is nothing you can do to stop album art arriving with your file. There is now way of knowing it is there until the file arrives. I do not share any files with album art, as I seem to find that it messes the imformation up on the tag and this does not display properly 1.e Album/artist etc. If you use iTunes it is no problem to delete albumart, or otherwise I gather there other tag programmes you can use. LOTR is the expert on that. Otherwise .. what's the problem with albumart? It doesnt take up much space or cause any problems unless you stick on a huge great Full size CD cover ... How do I know? ![]() As far as 4.9.23 is concerned I haven't come accross this (yet) but If you use iTunes or some other tag programme you should be able to delete the art like I said |

![]() Hi Hobo, I understand what you're saying, but the album art wasn't listed in my library before and now it clutters up the folder. I thought they could be hidden rather thaqn deleted. Thinks! Could it be I show hidden files? I'll have a look. Pete |

![]() album art does not come with files unless you download them with the file (if you so choose to download it from the user). album art comes from your media player downloading them from databases like cddb "gracenote". users that make available album art are have either downloaded the whole file contents from another user (like an opennap based networks that allows downloading of folder contents eg slsk) or the user just has album art automatically downloaded and added to that "CD" folder. here is a small FAQ/tutorial relating to the WMP album art database. this generally applies to all media players that are capable of accessing music databases (such as gracenote cddb). http://www.faqfarm.com/Q/What_is_alb...w_does_it_work |

![]() It is an easy thing with iTunes to add what ever album art you like ... copy the cover from Amazon or somewhere and paste it on. I have received a number of files with the WRONG album art on also. If I add on album art with iTunes and put it on LW I do not know if it shows up at the other end. Anyway, as I said I have stopped doing it. I am going to try and get some album art to show up in LW 4.9.23 ...haven't got round to it yet ![]() |

![]() Ultracross ... This thread started because NightOwl said albumart is showing up in the library in LW 4.9.23. I have yet to see what he is talking about, but I'm prepared to believe him He's been using LW long enough to know what he's talking about ![]() And mp3 files ARE able to hold album art, How exactly, I have no idea. This is a fact because I have downladed many mp3s with albumart. This might be a mac only thing, but I cannot see that what computer/Os you were using would make a difference. off to experiment! |

![]() Guys I don't have much to add other than to say I recently, yesterday, noticed a lot of album art .jpg files in my shared directory. I believe I may have downloaded them when I first started to use LW Pro but can't be sure, I have now deleted them. Although I don't download many mp3 files, the odd one now and then, I will also keep a watch to see if any more album art files(accidentally) turn up. UK Bob |

![]() @ultracross RTF specs! ![]() ![]() @ukbobboy01 The last section of the ID3v2/4.15 spec says: There is the possibility to put only a link to the image file by using the 'MIME type' "-->" and having a complete URL [URL] instead of picture data. The use of inked files should however be used sparingly since there is the risk of separation of files. That's what probably happened to you. The MP3s contained URLs to Album Art and your Music Player downloaded it. |
