Mac OSX is a little different, .limewire is a file. Whereas on windows & mac os 9, it's a folder called .limewire so this folder is what you want to delete. The next time you open LW, it will create a fresh .limewire preferences folder. Sometimes the contents of this folder become corrupt or it just freshens up LW by deleting it.

Do you get any search results to show up at all? Try an Any type search. If you keep the search criteria simple/general, you'll get more results.

nah i get plenty of search results its just that nothing comes up in the boxes on the left hand side. i found it much better when stuff came up in the artist and album boxes

Under an Any type search, filter it. Under media, select Audio. Then you'll see the separations of artist & album.

But why you're not having any success with an audio type search I'm not sure. Perhaps your searches are too specific.
