jumpy search results window

Hello

My first post here. WIN 2K Pro, LimeWire Pro v 4.8.1, Java v 1.4.1_06

When I do a search that results in a lot of hits, the results window starts to fill up. If, while the results are still coming in, I see something that interests me, or I want to start the process of reviewing the results while the search is still going on, I can either grab the scroll button to scroll to a particular result or simply start clicking just below the scroll button in order to get the results to scroll in 'sections' (I can see about 14 results in the window at one time - I click below the scroll button and I get the next 14). My problem is, the still-incoming results tend to jerk the window up and down - the window won't just sit where I asked it to go so that I can read details about the result or compare the result to my existing library or whatever. Even if I grab the scroll button and physically hold it in a particular position, the results jump up and down. I hope this is clear.

Is there a way to configure Limewire so that when search results are flowing in, I can 'fix' the results window by either highlighting a particular result or by using the scroll button to scroll to a particular section of the incoming results list?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Not really! You need to wait until the results are all in and they will order themselves in LWs own way hense the jumping about. You can try stopping the search (right click on the tab) above the search, but this probably won't work intantly. You are probably best off making a mental note of the beginning of the title and ordering the columns by name and finding it like that. Anyway you may find a more suitable version if you wait for all the results.

Hi Hobo

Thanks a lot for the info. I kind of suspected that this would be the case. It's not a huge problem but I often find myself trying to hold the window steady. I will just wait until results load
