limewire error message
 

I keep having a strange error message pop up when using limewire. I thought it may have to do with that worm people are getting with the new version that makes limewire auto run no matter what you do. I ran my virus protection and got rid of the worm and that problem but then did not want to download the new version again only to get the worm a second time.

I downloaded an older version, have no worms and no autostart up but still get this error message popping up over and over:

"limewire was unable to write to a necessary file because you do not have the necessary permissions. Your preferences may not be maintained the next time you start limewire, or limewire may behave in unexpected ways."

music downloaded goes to the right file and seems to play fine but the message pops up so much it is annoying. Again, I get this with any version of limewire I use.

Also, if the newest version I downloaded right from limewire had the worm, where can I download the new version to avoid that?

Buckwood12, I really hope you ar'nt going to be joining the "Legion", but if you give me a bit more info as to where you you got LW from,how long you been running it,have you paid for it? Post back:)

If you didn't pay any money for LW you'll need to download again the latest basic (or pro) version from the oficial site and before installing it do what you'll see in this Link (click here and folow the steps)
