How do I get upload bandwidth throttling to work?

Hello,

This slider control just doesn't seem to do anything. It seems like my upload bandwidth is either 0% (no downloaders) or 100% (1 or more downloaders). I go to Tools, Options, Uploads, and change it and hit OK. It does not affect any current downloads. I do, however, think it is affecting future downloads, because I left it at 1.43k (when I was playing at getting it to work) by mistake one night and actually saw a really (slow) bad download being attempted the next morning when I got up.

Is this another feature, like the chat, that won't work for now? *sigh*

Regards,

Some insight. . .

The throttling works for me. You have to realize that this throttle is controlling your upload speed. If you have a cable modem connection with a max upload throughput of 128 kbps that equates to only 16 kB/sec (or roughly 42% on the slider control).

So. . .adjusting the slider to 8 kB/sec would share half of your available 128 kbps throughput. Adjusting it to 100% is allowing no more throughput than putting it at 42%.

Hope this helps.
