![]() I have a Centrino at 1.6 Ghz and 512 of RAM with XP pro and service pack 2 at date. So the problem is that always when I run limewire, the blue screen of death appears, and I have no idea of what could be because I have ran limewire in this pc before (I reinstalled windows) and I guess it is not a hardware problem. I do have java and most of the drivers at date. So if anyone has any idea, every suggestion will be apreciated. One more thing, I can defend myself in english, but I am not an expert, so if you could not use any strange words it will be really nice. |

![]() Hi Miki You say that you have recently reformatted your HD re-installed WinXP Pro SP2, Java and LW but get the "Blue Screen of Death" whenever you run LW. Have you reinstalled or updated your video card driver? I know that incompatibilities between video drivers and LW can cause either of them to crash which, of course, causes your PC to either re-boot or crash. So, my simple advice is to update your video driver. UK Bob |

![]() Hi Miki, I've got the exact same problem as you. I'm running a Toshiba Satellite notebook, 512 mem, etc. it's a new system. I install limewire I get the death screen with errors in white text which is impossible to read in 1/4 of a second then reboots. I've got a Dell Inspiron, also a newer system and it works great on that one. I'm gonna try what the other guy said and see if there's an updated video driver out there and see if that does anything. My email is cemorse@charter.net, drop me a note if you figure it out, I'll do the same! good luck... |

![]() chadm69 I am running a new Toshiba laptop 6 months old. When I bought it before I left the store I bought another 512MB of ram for it when I got home I took it out of the box and reformatted the hard drive and installed XP Pro on it. I did not put any of the Toshiba crap back on it they come loaded with all kinds of stuff you probally don't need or will ever use. My guess is that LimeWire is probally having a conflict with some of the Toshiba software. Try opening the task manager and turning off some of the Toshiba applications until you can get LimeWire to run. Then if you do not need that application uninstall it. |

![]() Hi Grandpa... Yeah you know that's the very first thing I did is uninstall all the crap that came preloaded in my system -- aol, at&t, etc. all that crap that nobody would ever want to use. Mine came with 512, my Toshiba Satellite is model M35-S456. I went to look at the driver update site and the ONLY driver that had a newer date was the video driver. Last night I had downloaded and installed the newer version, and now I'm going to cross my fingers and see if this thing is going to reboot on my after installing LW again. I'll let you know if it works, wish me luck! |

![]() Ok guys, I tell you what -- I'm a network administrator and I DO know my crap quite well. I have eliminated all possibilities of software conflicts. My conclusion is that LimeWire is poorly written and is NOT compatible with all devices. That's the bottom line... Good Luck!! |
