Hey Lord of the Rings,
Thanks for your reply, it seems as though you're always coming to my rescue (hee, hee). I'm actually normally not a Windows user either - I'm a proud Mac user. I actually bought this notebook to experiment with Mandrake Linux but as yet haven't had the time so it became my 'work' computer.
I have tried the Management tool and couldn't make sense of it. I have also run the virus checker and disk utilities over it with no problems reported. I'll just take it to a computer shop soon and get them to sort it out (hopefully).

I'm not a windows knowledge but there is a chance that your permissions have become corrupt for some reason. You can go to Control panel > Admin Tools > Comp Management to set up permissions to particular folders. I can't remember the specifics.
In the meantime I'd suggest you do a Safe boot & try it then. Move the folder elsewhere. Also give your computer & good run over with file & disk utilities & AV program, etc. just to be on the safe side. |  |
