I recently downloaded v4.9.30Pro and appear to have lost some functionality.
1. When exiting, the Limewire icon refuses to stay in the systems tray, although I have checked the option in er........ options. This means the whole thing has to reload on start-up, and presumably downloads are not taking place while my machine is off.
2. When viewing the "individually shared files" folder, a click on the explore button results in ....... nothing. Is this normal. The "individually shared files" folder is new to me, and I don't really get it. Why share files individually?

By the way, am I experiencing a little "we have your money and we're not interested" syndrome? I mailed Limewire support two weeks ago and as yet have received no reply. Aaaaaargh!

Having not used .30, I am not sure about part of your post, but please can you confirm if this is the first time you have used Limewire, How much you paid for it, and exactly where you got it from.

When you say you e-mailed support. Did you send an e-mail or did you go through the pro web site?

Thanks for the reply. I've been using LW for about 1 year and this is an upgrade purchased through the website. I paid about 19 Dollars, and I don't think it's a scam (if that's where you were heading). Help - About shows it as the version I paid for. I mailed support through the correct channels, as opposed to a straight mail from my e-mail program.

Hi yes I was checking you had a genuine versio of Limewire pro so that does'nt seem to be a problem

Responses from pro can take a while and often help can be obtained more easily on the forums.

I find Exiting does not always work as expected, If you have no uploads or downloads taking place in the Mac version, LW will usually shut down on exit. I have given up trying to work out if this is correct. If I want to shut down soon, I select disconnect , which stops new hosts from connecting, but established hosts can stay there for hours!.

If I want to keep LW running in the background I simply minimise it, Windows is no doubt a bit different, but I suspect the close down thing has not quite been perfected

Individually shared foders may be a new thing in .30 I know nothing about it I'm afraid

The shutdown thing is a new glitch. It worked fine on previous versions I've had - minimise to the system tray and on start-up, there it is. I accept that there are many idiosyncracies with any software, it's just a little annoying when something worked, and now, in the new improved version, it doesn't. Maybe I'll wait for LW to respond, and in the meantime, keep watching the forum. Thanks anyway for your suggestions,

I'm not sure if it is possible for you to revert to your previous version ... if you still have the old installer you can. You may get told that the version .31 will cure the problem but right now it is strongly recommended that no one upgrades past .30

If you have had a good read of the forums you will know why.

Well ... the only good thing ... and not a small thing ... about pro is that the connections are better. whether it's 27 or 30 is not going to make a lot of difference,... only that perhaps the earlier one will work better for you
