Just curious which version of LimeWire are you running and where did you get it I noticed that namfc said he had just started using 4.9.30 PRO and that version came out in mid September and was no longer available from the official site. At the time this thread was written the current version was 4.9.33 Which tells me it is probably a version that was downloaded off the net or from a scam site and there is a good chance it is corrupted or contains a virus. The current version is 4.9.37

Have you gone to norbies sit a had him diagnose it yet. The only thing I can think of is either a virus or a corrupt install

Yawn, no thanks. I'll just use something else. I've installed it from 3 different downloads from limewire's site and mirrors. It's some crappy java issue I'm sure. It's not a virus, I've installed and uninstalled, and cleaned my registry, deleted the .limewire directory etc etc. I've posted pertinent log here, on the limewire site, I'm not going to register on norbies site so he can tell me how to use hijackthis. sigh.

If you haven't tried it already you can try following the instructions below.

You will need to install Java and LimeWire manually First go to the first link.You can find Links to java in there Download Java to your hard drive by putting a mark in the save to disc box. Save it to my documents or wherever you save downloads from the internet. Do the same with LimeWire the second link will take you there.

Now with that done click on start then control panel add/remove programs and see if Java is listed on the list if it is uninstall it. Do the same with LimeWire if the un installers were not loaded you may have to manually delete the files. But in most cases this is not necessary.

Now click on the Java installer you saved to your hard drive and follow the instructions after you have completed that do the same with LimeWire.

Please post back and let us know if it worked. If it did not I will give further instructions on manually deleting Java and LimeWire.

I've been thru all that already (read the fixit thread as posted before), no luck. Limewire is not the only thing that uses java on my computer, but it is the only thing that's not working. (I"m using the latest 1.5 build of java- b05). It's always about the same..
