Are These DRM Files Anything to Worry About? I have Windows98SE and while exploring my system I found a file called C:\Windows\All Users\DRM. In the file these items were listed: DRMv1.BAK BAK File DRMv1.key Registration Entries DRMv2.lic LIC File DRMv2.licIndex LICINDEX File DRMv2.sst Certificate Store IndivBox.key Registration Entries V2ks.bla BLA File V2ks.sec SEC File V2ksndv.bla BLA File These items were all dated around the day that I was setting up my present computer, 7/05/05, except for one for the "Certificate Store" which was 10/16/05, Sunday, when I was asked for a DRM certificate. On that day, I was downloading a Weedshare file and I thought that these were ok. I got so paranoid that I didn't read what the message said, I just closed them out! :( I have purchased CDs through BMG, but I don't think that would have anything to do with it. I haven't tried to rip one YET. All in all, is this anything to worry about? Also, something strange just happened, a pink, search bar-looking pop-up with a little "gurgling" noise just appeared. Had things like search message, file, and things like that. It doesn't give me enough time to read it before it leaves. It happens every once in a while. It may have something to do with the Trillian that I installed and uninstalled and the Yahoo messenger that I uninstalled, but still it's a new one on me. Sorry for getting wordy once again,"it's in me nature!" Peace.;) |
