Help I deleted my LimeWire!
 

I deleted my 4.8 Limewire and tried to download 4.9...and it will not let me....I think I got ripped off...I paid $42 for Limewire from "members area"...Im a newbie to this and just learning.....4,8 is a free version right?
I cannot figure out what I paid for?:mad:
Anyway can anyone from Limewire help me get there shareware back on my puter?

Basic is free, Pro costs $18.88US and gets you 6 months free updates and Pro support.

It's also advisable to contact your c.c. company and let them know you were scammed, they may be able to help you. And you can try to contact the site you purchased LW from and demand your money back.
Also keep an eye on your c.c. statements as they like to tack on charges for other things you didn't sign up for.

Yeah...You are right.....I thought I was paying $17.
They added a movie codec and a spyware detector....and it went up to $42.
I was on a download webisite and seen that all the stuff I paid for was free.
Theres a ph# on there web site...and I will call and tell them I want my $$ back......but anyone that would sell freeware?

I just got off the phone with customer support....and they told me that I purchased a years membership in their club.....and tech support and the latest computer stuff info and downloads....
I told them I would like a refund......and they were polite and said that they would refund the money to my CC.

When the money shows up back on my CC....
I will download LimeWire from the Official Site

I was not happy with the 4.8....it was as slow as molasses in january...and was slowing my puter down and causing it to freeze up....also the uninstaller did not work very well.....it left ghosts of Limewire...on my puter!:eek:
I hope the updated version is a more solid version without bugs and works smoothly with my pc.

When I was running Limewire...and the downloads were just at a slow trickle......this pop up would say "Download new 4.9 Lime wire" its 4 times faster......and I said to myself....anything has got to be faster than this.
I was reading on these forums where someone said they liked the musicmatch juke....I DL it and really like it....I think its a pretty old version...but it seems to work really well....got a good sound!

Yeah...I DL LimeWire From official Site....and got it up and running.....its still very slow DLs....Im talking 1kB 2KB 3KB at most....and 45-60 minutes to DL!

Some isp's are known to throttle back p2p networks, also if your d/ling from school they often filter or block p2p. If your isp or school is blocking you there isn't much you can do except try talking to them and see what their policies are on it or you can switch to another isp.

Then it could be in your settings. You can start by reading this thread here: A few things to consider while configuring Limewire for optimal performance.... It will take some time and effort on your part but that's how I learned:).

Also d/l speed is affected by other factors such as your connection speed, the speed of the person your d/ling from, how many sources are available, how many other people are trying to d/l the same file ect.

I read everything on the link....then did the speed test... then configgered the puter to the upload speed.....everything else was pretty much set the way it should be.........but setting the upload setting must have done the trick...because its downloading faster....prolly as best as I can expect with dialup! :)

Yeah...dialup sucks...:D
But its prolly the cheapest in the country.......$100 a year!
Small town...theres only about a thousand of us on the service...and theres never any trouble with it.:)
