Default Viruses

Hi, every time i use limewire i seem to download about 10 too 20 viruses. I have anti virus and a fire wall but it does seem to stop this. Is there any way of stopping this?

Yeah, keep away from small files, typically under 2MB, and keep away from exe, zip, com, scr, etc files, i.e. files that can run.

Plus, having a good AV app helps too.

Add PDF's to that list of virus spreaders. I find it particularly ludicrous for someone to spoof photoshop tutorials or other program documents and help files. Apparently some people have too much free time.


If I find a virus, I make that the description of the file. So for all of you out there in free electron land, READ THE FILE DESCRIPTION!

It might not be a bad idea for others to do the same. Maybe we can id all the carriers and then flush them out of the P2P network.

I think it would save a lot of clients some grief.
