![]() I've looked all over the boards for this issue, but I can't seem to find anyone with the same problem. Don't know if I'm posting in the right place, I hope so! Limewire keeps getting removed from my pc. I can install it, no problem (basic, not the pro). But somewhere in a matter of a day or two, it gets entirely removed. I've no doubt it has to do with my spyware/AV. I'm running XoftSpy, Norton and PestPatrol. I've also got a firewall. What is that I should be doing to prevent this from happening over and over? I've probably re-installed LW at least 20 times in the past few weeks, so you can understand that it's getting frustrating. I know it's not LW - I just don't know what it is or how to fix it. Anyone??? Thanks! ![]() |

![]() No get rid of Pest Patrol. It's buggy & doesn't work properly with p2p sharing programs. It worked properly once upon a time (over 18 mths ago) but they failed to update it to cater properly for p2p. It thinks p2p sharing programs are spy programs. If you search the word PEST or pest and patrol then you'll see a no. of posts about it including from a LW programmer. P.C. will do LW damage! Replace it with these ones: 1. Spybot - Search & Destroy (FREE), & also get 2. ad-ware (FREE)

![]() Thank you so much. Your answer was thorough and informative. After posting my thread, I thought it might have something to do with PP, so I set PP's preferences to ignore the LW folder. This morning, LW is still installed, so maybe it worked okay. But I noticed a few other threads in these forums that say basically what you said: PP is not recommended for P2P networks. I used to LOVE that program because it was fabulous (yes, it was about 18 months ago!). Not so much anymore. It's quirky and quite irritating, lately. Thanks again. I'll check out your suggestion, too. ![]() |
