PLEASE HELP! I have a big problem that won't stop and don't know what to do! HELP!!

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME! if it is at all possible! I recently deleted limewire basic, and now i am getting this error message that CONSTANTLY pops up..it says:


One or more necessary files appear to be invalid.
This is generally caused by a corrupted installation.
Please try downloading and installing limewire again.

And thats the message that NEVER stops popping up!
I uninstalled and reinstalled limewire to try to fix it but nothing works. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME! I WILL BE ETERNALLY GREATFUL!

Go to C:/Program files and delete the limewire folder if that doesn't work then you will have to manually edit the registry post back if it doesn't work I will give further instructions tomorrow. It is past my bed time.

I have the exact same problem as esch08 and the quick fix of deleting the limewire folder doesnt seem to work. And when I think about, I dont see any way that it would. I mean, if you delete the folder with all the program files in it, how would the program ever run? Am I just reading your post wrong, Grandpa? Do you actually mean to go and delete the LimeWire folder from Program Files?

None the less, I tried it, and not surprisingly, when I tried to open Limewire from the destop icon, it said it couldn't find limewire.exe and asked me to find it for windows. Well, it couldnt be in the Limewire folder cause I deleted it...

Anyways, I'm very confused about the whole thing and was wondering if someone could tell me what to do. Thanks!

The reason for deleting the folder was esch08 had previously deleted LimeWire when they did that the probably only deleted part of the program and you can not uninstall it if everything is not there.

esch08 was just trying to get the message to quit popping up. You will need to reinstall LimeWire. And if you have a problem just post it in this thread and someone will try and help you.

Well, I definately still have the problem. I get the same error message at start up that was posted above. I've re-installed LW and Java a bunch of times. Each time making sure that it is completely uninstalled. I was just wondering if anyone has encountered this problem before and knew of a fix 'cause the re-installing thing isnt doing the trick. Try using the instructions below.

You will need to install Java and LimeWire manually First go to the first link.You can find Links to java in there Download Java to your hard drive by putting a mark in the save to disc box use the offline installer. Save it to my documents or wherever you save downloads from the internet. Do the same with LimeWire the second link will take you there.

Now with that done click on start then control panel add/remove programs and see if Java is listed on the list if it is uninstall it. Do the same with LimeWire if the un installers were not loaded you may have to manually delete the files. But in most cases this is not necessary.

Now click on the Java installer you saved to your hard drive and follow the instructions after you have completed that do the same with LimeWire.

Please post back and let us know if it worked. If it did not I will give further instructions on manually deleting Java and LimeWire.
