Well there is a sticky ( http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=39612 ) and it talks about LimeWire just popping up... Well, my LimeWire just randomly closes (instead of randomly pops up). Should I follow the same directions, or could anyone give me some insight on what to do... Ill be download and it will close... Or I could be gone for 2 seconds it will close. Sometimes it stays open for a long time then will close... Its annoying, because I download movies and stuff over night then put them on my IPod (so I dont have to wait all day), and since it closes I cant...


Can anyone help me?

It may be a Java problem.
Google up Java and see if you have the latest version.

Try only steps 1 & 2 here: Fixes for Limewire

Also, after that, go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>iTunes>Sharing & make sure sharing options are turned off. This option can make LW go slower; ie: use more cpu sources.

Go to Tools>Options>Speed & tick Disable Ultrapeer Capabilites.

Also don't use the Resume button on all incomplete files. This can have side-fx such as affect LW's connection quality. May queue your files for much much longer. This will also stress LW & your comp. (use up heaps more cpu resources.) If you use Resume/Find sources then just apply it to a couple or so at one time.

Well try the other options also that I suggested above. It sounds more like a system issue to me. Perhaps a reinstallation of windows. I presume you have more than 250 MB ram right? It would also be worth defraggmenting your HDD. Check your system over with system, file & HDD utilities.
