Limewire not initiating

I had Limewire a solid 8 months and worked fine. However, after xmas I would open limewire and the Limewire screen would not appear after I clicked "later." I have tried re-installing multiple times and have done everything that I have found in the forums. I haven't found a post that had a similar problem. Would appreciate some help.

Running the latest version fyi

Wow I'm not sure if I've ever heard of this issue before. Not sure what to suggest. Particularly with the lack of details about your set up. Perhaps we can guess. :D

I am having the same problem! I have been using Limwire for atleast 6 months, and one day it didn't load. I got the startup screen, and it came up in the task bar. The tips and the go pro screen came up but not the actual limewire screen. The box for limewire is indented, meaning that limewire is open, but the screen is not there. I have tried re-installing it but to no avail.

I am using the latest version of Limewire, and Windows XP.

Thanks, Belinda

I am having the same problem also. When i start limewire, in the top right corner of my screen it gives the ad about upgrading to turbo. I click later and all i see is my desktop, but in my taskbar, there is the limewire tab that is indented which means it should be shown. I right click and hit close, and it goes to my quick-launch toolbar (?) by the clock in the bottom right. I double click that and it goes back to the indented taskbar button but no interface. Any suggestions? I notice that this has happened multiple times. Also i am running the latest version, and have tried to re-install multiple times.

Try steps 1-3 here: Fixes for Limewire & that means uninstalling Java & reinstalling using the "Offline" Java version.
