Angry Windows explorer has encountered a problem....WTF?

Hi there, I have been looking through these message boards for hours trying to find a solution and it is now 5am...Can someone please help.
When I downloaded a file I keep getting an error message when i open the folder that the file is stored in. Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to Close we are sorry for the inconvenience. Why is this coming up? I have deleted the file and downloded again several times and always have the same problem. I have virus and adware software installed and when I scan that folder for viruses it comes up with nothing.

Does anyone know how to help me. Its a large file (350MB) so I can't just keep on downloading it cos its eating up all my download limit.

Thanks

Question "windows explorer encountered problem"

same here.....my computer has now become a mess....every time i perform a search that same exact message comes on my computer...then it freezes and it all disappears...also, my computer is now turning off all by itself....a 3 month old computer with no problems until i downloaded from this site...i am a crying mess now...i am such a new user that support on here is really useless because i am afraid i will do something to further corrupt my computer...i now get to go spend $60-$100 on fixing it when this site has known the whole time about what problems they have been having...????

Usually when you get that it is a windows problem. You said when you do a search. Did you mean when you do a search with LimeWire for a file.

well, i know that it is not a windows problem...it all started when i downloaded limewire and downloaded about 10 songs....

first things just kept popping up on my screen...programs opening. then, i couldn't close programs..it would freeze up on me..ctr-alt-del didn't work because it would come up and freeze also...

i read many forums and heard about different files to search for to see if that was the problem...like opening my prefetch file, etc. i know that i have a worm or virus.

You most likely downloaded a Virus the link below should help. You need to educate your self before you do any more downloading. There are allot of viruses on the Gnutella network. LimeWire has nothing to do with the problem you are having. If you can not get rid of the virus yourself there is a link to Norbies world in the link below. He will be able to help you get rid of it.
