I Can't Get Limewire 1.8 to run
 

When I open the program, the Limewire screen comes up and then immediately closes itself.

Me too!! Anyone know why? I'm running win2k pro with ZOneAlarm installed. I have given full use permissions and it still opens and then immediatly closes

Did you use a standard installer?

I had 1.7 and upgraded to 1.8 and now my limewire will not even open. I double click on it and nothing happens. I have reinstalled it several times as well.

HELP!

The traget on my 1.8 shortcut is set for "My Computer."
Anyone know how to fix it?

Same here, it starts up and I get the screen and then it just shuts down right after it looks like it's ready to run. I'm also runing win 2k.

1.8 on Win2000 w/firewall
 

I can't get mine to work either. Same thing, the splash screen shows then goes to the program window, which immediately closes. It won't let me click on anything. I am using BlackIce, which I have set to Low, but it still doesn't work.

I had exactly the same problem. Now I tried reinstalling LimeWire WITH the spyware **** (Gator etc.) and now it runs pretty well.

You know that Gator is the worst spyware that exists?

Drop LW in your trashcan...

if any of u have used 1.7 or 1.6 go back to that 1.8 sucks !!
