This has happened to me to, please find me a cure!!!! |
Mine is REAL messed up! I am having the same problem listed as above, but I cannot even click on the Add/Remove part of the control panel without my computer freezing and having to restart. Whenever I click on the file that all of my downloads went to, or anything else Limewire related, I get an "execution prevention" error and windows tries to send a report. I can't get to any of the files that I downloaded over the past 8 months!! Any new suggestions? |
Could you guys answer The lords question of what graphics card you are using. |
Grandpa, forgive me for being an idiot, but tell me where to find it and I will give you your answer!! This problem has really shutdown alot of my access to my own system! |
1 Attachment(s) Go to Start/Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager/Display Adapter It will not tell you the brand name but it will tell you the platform and chip set as you can see mine is Nvidia GeForce 6200 |
Radeon X300 Series is what it said. I figured out a quick fix for this problem, you guys tell me what you think. I pretty much just did a system restore to the restore point of yesterday morning. Since I didn't start having this problem until tonight, I thought I would try it. Sure enough, it worked. I can now get to all 900 files that I downloaded in the last 8 months, and am currently in the process of downloading the new version of Limewire. I will keep you posted... apparently some system setting gets changed by something, causing the problem. It's worked so far, but Grandpa, let me know if you have any other ideas...... |
Sounds Like Java somehow got corrupted |
Ok, that fix turned out to be only temporary. I tried to use limewire today and the same thing happens. my old file that I used to download music to freezes everything when I try to click on it, I can't click on add/ remove programs with anything at all open, and now when I try to do the whole system restore thing, it doesn't let me restore to an earlier date. any suggestions? |
mattieb Have you tried un installing all versions of Java from your computer. then re installing Java. |
Sorry to jump in...but I've un-installed both Java and Limewire, and re-installed both, and am still having the problem. :-\ |
