LimeWire Fails to start. Period. I hate when things like these happen. I wanted to boot up LW one day, double-clicked, and got the Windows Error Report message saying "limewire.exe has encountered an error and needs to close" or w/e it says. I tried uninstalling, then reinstalling: no luck. Tried reinstalling after deletion of Application Data files, no luck. Had latest version. Help. Please. Btw, this board doesn't display in Firefox too well. :( |
Delete your LW preferences & reinstall your Java. Instructions here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=36420 Else, reinstall LW (you don't have to uninstall it, will do it automatically) using it's offline installer. Link here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=50931 :) Displays on my firefox just fine ;) |
Go to Start/Control Panel/Add Remove Programs and un install all versions of Java. Then go to the Java icon in my sig and get Java use the manual download and choose the off line installer to install Java you may have to re install LimeWire also but in most cases it is not necessary. You beat me birdy I must be getting slow:) |
 I had already uninstalled LW, deleted prefs folders, so I un/re installed Java JRE 5.0 or w/e the latest version is on their site. Still doesn't boot! Could this be a conflict with some installed application? It seems (though I am not 100% sure) that after I installed Matroska Pack it stopped working, but I tried it even after uninstalling that, and it didn't work. So I guess it's not that... [The members and edit buttons are messed up for me in my FF.] |
I have the same problem with any java based apps that are similiar to Limewire. Oh w/e it sucks. Done everything and still doesn't work. |
