I downloaded the wireless network Identification tool. Here's an update.

It says cannot detect wireless network. LAN harware not connected. I don't get it...

I don't use LAN. I use SBC DSL-modem.

But back to my question, how can you tell if you have the 2200BG installed on your comp? But if what I'v just did means I don't have the 2200BG, then I'm completely clueless on what's causing the BSOD.

And also, whats a network adapter? I have one-Realtek Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC

The lord sent me a copy of the PM you sent him did you have the geek squad overclock your computer.

And by the way a LAN is the connection setting your computer uses to get to your network. And unless you are on a network it wouldnt be present.

Ok. I'll ask them if they overclocked it. If they did, should they under clock it?

LAN is present on my computer, I use a DSL connection though, and it says that my LAN connection is broken.

If I were you I would make them figure out what is wrong and fix it. If I worked on someones computer and returned it to them and told them it was good to go. It should be good to go. LimeWire will not cause a BSoD if their isn't a problem somewhere else. You can take any computer out of the box and install LimeWire on it and it will run without crashing or getting the BSoD. You paid them good money to upgrade and they gave you back a computer that will not do what any normal computer will do. It is broke and they should fix it.

That's true. But they gave me some BS like my spysweeper is blocking Limewire and my computer is corrupt now or something like that. They said they can't work with Limewire for some reason (I think its because as soon as they connect, they share files). So the GS can't fix the problem if they don't experience it thought. I'm sure it's a hardware problem. But thanks again for all the help.

The don't have to connect to the Internet to fix your problem. All they have to do is turn your computer on and start LimeWire. The reason they can not work with LimeWire is because it shows there is a problem and they need to fix it. If you remove LimeWire then there is no problem so they don't have to fix it. They are using LimeWire as an excuse so the do not have to fix what they messed up. If it were me I would tell them that I believe the last number was 1.5 million computers are currently running LimeWire and they are not getting the BSoD.

I entirely agree with Grandpa, your geeks cannot fix the problem because they have no idea what it is. Back in the dim and distant past, when I used to work on PCs and faced with a similar problem, I would go through a trial and error process to find out what the problem was and then come up with a solution, not fob the user off with techno-babble.

Anyway, I have also had the dreaded BSOD, in the recent past, when using LW and that tended to be an incompatibility between the video driver and LW. I cured the problem by downloading and installing the latest drivers for my video card.

In order to do this you have to find out what video card or onboard video set-up your PC is using then go to the video manufacturer’s web site and download the latest drivers for your PC.

I've scrammbled across something that I'm curious about. I went to Control Panel, and there I see "Wireless Network Setup Wizard." I'm not sure what it is, but do you guys recommend me initiating it for it to work with limewire?
