Try steps 1-3 here Fixes for Limewire which includes uninstalling all versions of Java & reinstalling Java 1.5 offline. Make sure you delete the LW prefs folder also!!!

Hey,
I think i'm having this exact same problem.
I click on the icon, then the little square comes up, then it freezes at "Loading User Interface..."

then i have to go and kill the process in task manager..
i don't get it, it worked perfectly like a week ago..

Question RE: LimeWire not loading up!

Hi Guys,
I am having the same problem, which just started a week ago. I tried the recommended fix by Lord of the Rings, but LimeWire still doesn't work. Only difference now is that it goes past the "Loading User Interface" box, but the program crashes right away when LimeWire asks to to Upgrade to Pro. So I actually never have a chance to do anything within the application.

Any other possible trouble shooting tips??

Please help!

There are some other fixes here (besides the deleting prefs & reinstalling Java), see if they help

Default same problem

I am having the same problem, but it also seems to have connected itself to my saved file - where limewire stores all my downloads. I was in the process of downloading some stuff today and LW flashes and then vanished. I tried to reopen it and it would go throug the normal opening series and then I would get no work screen. So I intaslled the new 4.10 version and it still has the same problem. At that time I tried to open my saved file and I keep getting an error from windows

Well, I have to say that I'm having about as much luck as xPhantom.....None! Nothing I have done works. The only suggestion I have read is to change the 'AA' settings (not sure what that is?), but it seems to have something to do with installed graphics cards. I haven't installed a graphics card in my PC. Its pretty much as is from Dell. When I go to system properties, it says I have the Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller. Not sure if the 'AA' settings apply to the this? Who knows? But what I do know is that I have to stop spending two hours a night trying to get it work :-)
