Default Connecting to Brother's Computer

Is there a way to connect just my Bother's computer with LimeWire? We both have cable (and routers) and I'm interested getting some files off his machine.
Thanks,
-Skullneck

Direct connecting do you mean. So long as you live at different locations then fine. If you live at same location then just network the machines. In order to direct connect you both MUST have your firewalls properly configured. This includes modem/router properly configured with UPnP or manually port forwarded. For tips on this see Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link) for the various sections that deal with this.

Another easy method is sending each other magnet links. See How to use Magnet Links & Direct Connect

Hey Lord thanks for the info. I have UPnP setup and everything appears to be working from LW (i.e. there is no brickwall infront of the globe). My router is a RP614 v3 and ISP is Comcast.

When using a Magent Link the receiving maching doesn't DL and has a status of "Need More Sources".

To get this running I'm using my wireless laptop.

Thnx

I ended up rebooting both of my machines and everything works fine! :-)

The link on Magnet Link states "Once they are connected, they & you can browse each other's files." I'm assuming this means I can peruse my brothers file collection. This is exactly what I'm looking for but can't seem to find option.
