Try deleting the preferences folder, instructions here
Fixes for LimeWire

Deleting this folder will remove your settings within tools > options, so if you're not sure of your settings then write them down before you delete
You'll have to go & set things up again afterwards.

1. how long has it been happening (in days since you last opened it okay)??

2. Have you installed any new Software/Programs/Hardware other than java and new limewire copies u were told to install above since the last time it opened okay??

3. have you ben using the Exact same installer to install/re-install limewire during this trouble shooting period??
