Strange file saving activity Having considered myself a LW expert, I've encountered a real stumper. I primarily download rare and large vid files, which in some cases can takes days depending on the DL connection. Sure enough I found a hard to get file and the user is on a modem. No problem, I can get it in pieces over time right? Wrong! Not this pesky file. Heres what is happening: I'll let the DL go maybe all day and by the end of the day may have 20 - 25% of the file. Due to neccesity, when I go to reboot, then restart LW, the very file will be back at 1%! And this is EVERY time. I've been fighting this now for more than a month. When I preview the file, it is the correct file I'm after. And I've scanned the file several times for funny business, to no avail. However it doesn't matter how much I've DL'ed previously, I could be at 99% and it always goes back to 1%. I've considered removing the file from INCOMPLETE, rebooting, then replacing the file in INCOMPLETE, but what a pain in the a$% that would be and that may not solve the problem. I've been using LW for more than 5 years now, have DL'ed thousands of files and have never seen this one...what the??? |
I'm wondering if you're closing LW down properly; Downlds refuse to reload (click on link) If you right-click the top of the column heading, you'll see an option to show Vendor/version. Choose it & see what vendor code is listed. Tell us what it is. |
