Did you ever get yours to work? That strategy didn't help me any? I have clicked it about 100 times and it still isn't going away. The best I can do is shut down internet worm protection completely or for an hour or however long I am going to use limewire. Though, I don't like to do that every time I use LW, its obviously not practical. I never had this problem before? |

Norton Internet Security Mastress Do you really mean that Norton Antivirus keeps popping up, which is unlikely, or do you actually mean that Norton Personal Firewall keeps popping up, this is much more likely to be what is happening. Remember, that Norton Antivirus and Norton Personal Firewall are either sold separately or, as most people like to buy them, as one package called Norton Internet Security. If I am correct in my assumption that you have NIS, not just NAV, and you are getting NPF warnings then that shows you that you have not configured your firewall to recognise LW yet. UK Bob |

Okay, I have read the millions of threads posted on norton. So far, the only one that has directly faced my issue is one that says to "click 'Permit' about 50 times" and finally got it to work. I do not have Norton Internet Security and I don't have the personal firewall either. I have XPs firewall off too (as even Microsoft has advised me to do for anything). LW does show the firewall icon at the bottom but I do not have a firewall and LW works perfectly, its just that I am constantly having to click 'Permit' or turning off the Internet Worm Protection off and I don't like to turn it off. Is there anything else I can do???? |

This keeps happening to me also! The 50 clicks doesn't work for me. I have Norton System Works Premier, and have made sure LimeWire is in ALL of my exceptions. This was just a darn upgrade, I've had LimeWire for quite awhile with ZERO problems..Until I upgraded to 4.12.3. |

nav popup help Ay man! I've had this problem with a different P2P program before. Try the following: Open NAV control panel, then go to the options Go to the Program control tab on the left frame Seek LimeWire there and remove it (make sure there are no other instance of it), if its done close NAV windows, and run Limewire. It will pop up again accept it, and it should now work. |

Had the same problem with the every 2 second pop-ups... Instead of trying to get it to permit, shut down LW and remove LW from the internet worm protection area and you won't get the popups any longer. Last edited by Brettw22; July 3rd, 2006 at 04:05 AM. |
