![]() Hi People. I have just opened a new user a/c on our xp pro system so my son can have his own limewire library. I pasted and copied the library across to his new user a/c ok. But all the files have listed in the library whole. ie, audio files are listed below and above movies, next to images etc. They have`nt set themselves in the right lists, ie audio, movie, image etc. I tried dragging them into the right list, but they won`t go!! They all play okay, but there is no segregation. Can anyone tell me how to move them to their rightfull category?? The whole list plays fine, but if you click on audio, the list is empty, the same for movies etc. What have I done!! |

![]() Hi 6pak, I`ve checked the save folder title and it seems ok, it actually reads: C:\Documents & settings\martin\shared. I accessed this via the tools, options route. The odd thing is any new files he downloads, of whichever type, do automatically go straight to the correct sub folder. It`s only the ones I moved from the original limewire which refuse to be placed. They all play ok if you select them. They are all available in the library. If you click a type, ie audio, then go to library, you only see the files he has downloaded since the new user. If you don`t click any of the types, but just go direct to library, the whole lot of the originals are there, all mixed up. I really would appreciate any more advice if anybody has any!! |

![]() Ok. Here's something you could try. Go to his shared folder in windows(C:\Documents & settings\martin\shared). Create a shortcut on his desktop for that folder. Open LW and go to the library page. Click on the folder that has all the files that need arrranged. Hi-lite the files and drag & drop them onto the shortcut you made. When it's done go to the library page in LW and click the refresh button. Now hopefully all the files will be in the proper place. Another suggestion would be to delete the LW pref. folder while LW is closed. Points #2 & 3 in this thread: Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should Let us know if this helps ![]()

![]() Hi pac, Tried the desktop shortcut with no luck. Refreshing didn`t change anything, and to complicate matters, when we tried to move the shortcut files back, we got a message saying the file names were already being used, so we couldn`t send them back anyway!! We then deleted all the files in the library which needed re-setting, then used the shortcut to send them back to the library, refreshed, and they stayed where they are... ie all mixed up. In hindsight, I think what we should have done is copied/pasted each section of the library individually, and then pasted back to the new, correct sub folder. Doing one sub folder at a time I think would have avoided this problem. It`s not the end of the world though!! All his new stuff is going straight to the correct sub folders, so he`ll just have go to the main library and pick out what he wants from there, enough is enough!! I told him to re-download anything he especially wants to be in a sub folder. I really appreciate your efforts 6 pac, thanks for your trouble, Hotdog 1000 |
