Go LW>Tools>Options>Player and untick "use LW player".

The next time you'll open a media file a window might pop up asking you with which program you want to open it. Choose the one you want and tick "use always this choice" (or something like that).

Default changing lw did not work to get media player

I uninstalled LW but the remnants of early LW are still on my system. I tried to delete it but ran into a file being used by other applications error message. particularly with click.jar. can you help me delete all of LW from the sys.. thanks much

Go to start menu, Programs>LW>Uninstall. Also try Add remove control panel as a last resort only.

Uninstall them all. If you're brave, then install the Java 1.6 beta offline version http://java.sun.com/javase/6/download.jsp JRE "Offline" version which is a 15.72 MB download. But LW won't use it if you have any other Java versions installed!
