random reboots
 

hi guys my problem is random rebooting of pc when LW is trying to download a couple files. I sometimes get lucky and be able to download 1 or 2 files then it shuts my pc and reboots.

PC Specs are:

AMD 3500+
2GB Corsair XMS Ram
Western Digital 250GB SATA II
XFX Geforce 7800GT Vid card
Windows XP Home Edition with SP2
Limewire version 4.10.9
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0

help please...problem is sooo annoying

Do you get BSD (blue screen of death) at all just before it reboots?

Check your video card settings. You might find something here 1. The way to fix the Blank screen on startup,
2. GeoForce 3D setting, 3. Fix for LW interface blank spots problem

If BSD then see Limewire and Blue Screen of Death (click on link). It could be something like a ineffective fan, inappropriate heatsinks, graphic or other drivers out of date, etc.

no not really...it just shuts down automatically and restarts

Have a look through this thread. It's long & some of it is quite old but there are lots of fixes to try (disabling ultrapeer capabilities for example). If you want to try updating Java, use the offline installer here

I tried updating and tweaked some stuff...still same thing. Only happens if I download more than 1 file...strange tho. I guess more research
