Try to delete your limewire preference folder when LW is completely closed (i.e. also in the system tray).
The folder is called " LimeWire" (for the 4.12. version) and can be found in your hidden Application Data folder (on my comp. it looks like this " C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.MICROSOF-4FD83F\Application Data\LimeWire).
Delete the complete folder. When you reopen LW you'll have to reconfigure LW (i.e. Language, Share Folder, etc.).

If you had an older version installed before the 4.12. version, try also to delete the old preference folder called " .limewire ". Read on how to find and delete it here: (Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire)

Use your Add/Remove control panel to remove Java, & then reinstall it using the "Offline" Java installer which is about a 15 MB downld. Java 1.5 (take the JRE)

Also repeat steps 2, 3 & also try step 5 here: Fixes for Limewire

ok...i did all of that and it still opens up to the point of "Loading Library Window" but then it disappears and nothing happens....i have no clue what to do.

1. It sounds like a java problem. Might I suggest you backup your Java installer. Then go to the Add/Remove Control panel, remove all Java versions listed be they called java or jre, etc. Then install the Java 1.6 Beta http://java.sun.com/javase/6/download.jsp JRE "Offline" version which is a 15.72 MB download. It's had very good reports.

2. Also, download the "Offline" version of LimeWire from here (or your pro page): http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

3. Again, delete any LW prefs folder that might have been created. Make sure you do step 3 in deleting your LW prefs folder behind the "Hidden" Apps & Data folder.

4. Make sure all your screensavers are turned off. Then start LW up.

Hmm, that would mean that you're not logged in as Administrator (in case your machine doesn't run as administrator using your name). Besides, the " .limewire " folder is the one of the older LW version.
One more thing you might try. Right click the LW icon on your desktop, go to properties and change the compatibility to "Windows 2000".

no, another person is the administrator. and i have also already changed to windows 2000....idk....

Did you try deleting the LW prefs folder from C:\Documents and Settings\*yourusername*\Application Data\limewire

The application data folder is "hidden". So you need to turn the option on to show hidden files & folders 'before' you search for it. Sample image here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...32&postcount=4

BTW for some people, changing compatibility mode to NT sometimes helps also.
