Unhappy Music won't play in PowerPoint

The LW music files will not play in PowerPoint. I do not have this problem with my other (non LW files) mp3 music files and used many in PP presentations. Why won't they play????

Maybe PP doesn't access them from the folder they are in at present. You could try to move them to a different folder. It usually has nothing to do with them being downloaded via LW. LW (to say it simple) is just a kinda Download Manager that downloads files from the Gnutella Network.

I wasn't aware PP could import mp3 files. But I just tried it out. It failed on one & succeeded with the other. The one that failed had a long file title & was VBR. Whereas the other had a short filename & was CBR. Perhaps one of these areas is the reason you're having problems. Perhaps PP doesn't like files with long filenames or else, it can't import files encoded with VBR.

BTW the standard CBR bitrates are 320, 256, 224, 192, 160, 128, 96 kbps.

VBR of course being variable might be anything in between these.

I copied the mp3 files to the folder I use for music for the PP presentations and that did not work either! I make the presentations for our church offering time and need the music to go with them. I have not had the problem with other mp3 files. I will try shortening the file name and see if that helps. Any other ideas???

I want to thank you for your help. I renamed the files-with a short name-and since none of the properties had 'read only' checked, I changed that, and then moved them to my music file and NOW THEY WORK!!! Thanks again! Both of you saved the day!!
