Default ok I know that files deleted off limewire are gone but how much damage is done ?

ok,well i have several mpgs i dont want them...i deleted them normal way and if i unerase them i can.... but thats the thing i want them to be so corrupt i cant open them....i already tried various types of so software to delete them perm. but the software thinks they are system files so i cant get rid of them....so i was wondering if i was to delete them o limewire how much damage will be done to them??i know that they are renamed because i have found files named mpeg1 mpeg 2 under lost files on my C/: so do you think it will corrupt so bad as to be completely unrecoverable???so are they just renamed and stuck in some dump file location on my hdd , are they scrambled or deleted period forever and cant be recovered in anyway

??????please help

Guess, it depends on how badly someone wants to get those files back.
Let's say the NSA is about to find the location of Osama with one of those files,.....well I'm sure they would get back every and each piece of it.

The most effective way to erase files would be an eraser that uses the DoD standard (something like overwriting the file 15-20 times). As for deleting them with LW, for just the normal user they're gone unless you try to retrieve or restore them in a timely manner with some recovery program.

In general, with computers there seem to be no absolutes........
