Go to Start>Control Panel>Add Remove Programs. Uninstall all versions of Java Then go to the link below and get Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Release Candidate use the offline installer and install Java and see if that clears the problem up. I see you are running XP SP1 that could be your problem you may want to try an older version of Java.
