Default 4.12.6 bugs?

If this has already been brought up somewhere I can't find it. Anyway here is my tale of woe.

I just updated to LW version 4.12.6, after installation everything was working just fine for about five minutes, then the computer crashed...hard Blue Screen of Death and everything.
  • Restart computer, restart LW, leave WinAmp off, five min later...CRASH!
  • Restart computer, restart LW, set settings to default turn off WinXP firewall...CRASH!
  • Restart computer, perform a system restore to day before yesterday (when I still had v4.10) and LW gets a fatal error.
  • Completely uninstall LW, and reinstall LW 4.12.6 fresh. PC crashes again, but it takes 10 min this time.

PC specs...
  • WinXP Pro SP2
  • 1.2 gig proc
  • 1 gig RAM
  • 120 gig HD (plenty o' room left not even half full)
  • high speed cable connection
  • no routers
  • no anti-virus running
  • only firewall is the one that comes with WinXP

It should be noted that up until this version I've had no problems with LW...ever. In desperation I attempted to use iMesh, Ares, FilePipe, KaZaA, BitTorrent, and one or two others in an attempt to get the same kind of quality and fruitful search results that I get from Lime Wire, but to no avail. So I'm really going to need Lime Wire to work for me.

Any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks

Did you try frostwire? Also it's safer to have an ati virus and a firewall. Your computer is unsafe.

I did not try Frostwire. What is that?

The firewall is usually turned on, but I disabled it for the purposes of testing to see if that was the reason LW was crashing. Wouldn't be the first time the built-in WinXP firewall has caused problems, it is a rare event though when it does.
