Default wtf!

Hey.
I've had some various and assorted, not to mention sporadic, probs with search results from LimeWire. The fastest, easiest remedy I've found every time is to just uninstall and then reinstall LimeWire. Works for me every time.

i have unfortunately already tried that. i have tried uninstalling lw, then reinstalling, or installing diff versions, i have tried uninstalling/reinstalling java....i dont know if ive tried every possible combination yet but im quite confident that teh resolution lies somewhere else.

OKOKOK, here's another of my cheap'n'easy fix'em up'*** -- have you tried System Restore? When was the last time lw worked for you?

Tell you what: I resort to the un- and re- install, the system restore, quite often these days. Simply because I have spent - and wasted - more f******g time trying to fix things that I couldn't fix, but ended up being able to resolve simply by re and un, or system restoring.

Other than that, I don't know. Have you screwed around with your "display"? Been dicking around in the "options" folder?

Try System Restore, if it hasn't been too awfully long since lw worked.

this is a fresh install of windows it worked before i formatted altho i have had this problem in the past, before i had just installed diff versions to get it to work, this time that seems futile

OK, how 'bout this. I just went back to lw to see what I could see ....

Have you tried clicking on View, then Show/Hide and playing around with that?

I confess I'm just grasping at straws here ... since I'm not sitting in your chair and can't see what's up with your machine I'm attacking the obvious first.

Just another thought.

the view settings under options only allow you to edit the "do not display this message again" thing, edit popup settings, or enable autocompletion of text fields, and i dont know what navigation button your reffering to but im pretty sure this isnt something that you can do to your limewire by fooling with the options, (although i could be wrong). it seems to me that the interface is bugged my first guess when looking at it was that it was a JRE problem, but if it is i dont know what to do with it aside from uninstalling/reinstalling JRE. I figured people would have trouble understanding this problem which is why i enclosed the pictures it would have made it alot harder to describe otherwise.

i havent used lw for like weeks now it hasnt responded to anything id done so far i was guessing it was a JRE problem and that fooling with the options seemed a little pointless if it was infact bugged or an incompatability problem or something but since you kept telling me to change options to fix i had been fooling with them without any changed until i decided to revert back to the default settings in the LW options, it worked my search results appear again, i guess LW had been uninstalling everything but keeping some kind of settings saved instead of wiping itself from my system completely, these settings had been loaded automatically when i installed a new LW...i know ive had this problem more than once sop im sure someone else will run into it eventually if u do just go to tools, options, restore defaults. thanks for ur help and inspiring me to look in my options for a resolution clipmgr, i had no idea a problem like this would have such a simple resolution.

When i'm in the lw site my toolbar has file/view/navigation/resources/ tools/filters/help
I click View I get a drop down with show/hide;monitor;connections;library;console;search which drops down to Result filters.
Do you have those? If so, have you f***ed with them?
