Stalling and Crashing
 

I attempt to load up Limewire (It's the latest version). It will begin to load, and the small limewire box will go blank. About 30 minutes later it'll load (Everything will be blank) and it will crash.


On the rare occasion I DO get in, whenever I attempt to download something, it will run EXTREMELY slow (Downloading/searching/browsing lists, etc), or it will lock up my computer and crash it.


I have NEVER had a problem with Limewire before! I just upgraded my computer (Brand new one, about three/four days old), with XP, and suddenly limewire refuses to work? What gives?

The links above helped, they got to the point where I could access limewire, but now it locks up!


I installed an older version of Java, but now my limewire doesn't load properly? It keeps freezing, but I can see the windows! Heeelp!?

Try deleting LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. Points 2 & 3 in the thread below have instructions.
Fixes for LimeWire

I'm not really sure whether changing compatibility will help but you could try it if you like (point 5).

If nothing works, try reinstalling LW but make sure to use the offline installer, not the recommended one.
