Default Can't Launch Videos/Can't Use "Explore"

I recently upgraded my AV (TrendMicro PC-Cillin 2007). Coincidentally (or not), I have had these problems since: 1) LW will not launch any videos from my Saved Files; 2) LW does nothing when I choose "Explore" (normally it would open my Shared Folder so I could listen/watch in RealPlayer); 3) the Help Topics will not launch in LW; and strangely, 4) my speakers are now very soft (max volume is barely audible, but the speakers work when plugged into other devices). I am using Windows XP. I have searched the LW site, poured over the Forums, downloaded updated versions of Java and RealPlayer, run virus scans (all clear), configured the Windows firewall, checked all volume settings, pulled out my hair, and am at a loss. Any suggestions are most appreciated. Thank you, in advance!

Guess, the first thing I'd try is to uninstall PC Cillin and see if the problem disappears. If it does, try to re-install the program in Save Mode.

If it doesn't, uninstall LW and reinstall it in save mode (after deleting all references to it in your AV program).

Pardon my ignorance, foolofthehill, would you please explain Save Mode?

Well, starting your computer in Safe Mode, that's what I meant. I think it's hitting F8 while your computer is starting to boot.

Problem solved! It was the AV upgrade all along! After a 2 hour online chat with TrendMicro Support and uninstalling and reinstalling the firewall (among other things), my LW is as wonderful as ever! Even the speakers are back to normal - weird, eh? Yeehah! I can finally get some sleep.
