![]() Hi guys, try as I might I cannot stop Nero being the player for lime wire. I'm sure there is a setting somewhere but I cant find it. I have Nero 7 and cant find the preferences (or the preferences I have found do not cover what it plays). Usually when installing a new player it will let you set what it plays but not nero. It has taken over all limewire files and I wouldn't mind except it cannot play a preview so I don't know what I'm downloading. The settings in LW don't seem to do much they never changed anything when the Windows player played the files. Any ideas, it's probably a regedit thing is it? Stuck and bewildered ![]() |

![]() Much less complicated than you suspect ![]() Outside of Limewire. Alternatively you can choose a file in the saving library and press explore to go to that folder Just right click on some videofiles and go to open with then press choose program. Now just highlight the program and check the box that say "Always use the selected program...". Now press OK and you have changed the default program for that filetype. You have to do this once for every format. |

![]() But that still wont change the way limewire plays the files will it. I know about outside of lime wire no problem but within its green walls I am bound to play using Nero. If I do as you say it only effects how to play it once it's downloaded and on my desktop. I won't effect playing previews will it? Tha's all I bothered about as you know the preview tool is so important to make sure you are actually downloading the thing you want and not some renamed nonsence. ![]() For the preview of videos LW uses your default media player. So, if you do as Sleepless and I have suggested, then you'll have a new default media player after doing the recommended steps. As for music files, LW comes with an integrated player. Go LW>Tools>Options>Player and see whether the square is marked about using the LW player. ![]()

Maybe fixed now...dunno. There was a new update released a few days ago. Just haven't downloaded it yet. Looked at the Release notes. According to it the "Doubleclicking on second mp3 file would freeze Nero" should be fixed now. (BTW. That was one of the new bugs that came with the last update) Sure wish I hadn't spent money on buying it. ![]() |
